Biographical / Historical

Blacklands Malt, operating out of Leander, was the first malthouse in modern Texas history. Prior to their founding in 2012, no barley, wheat, or rye was grown and malted in Texas for use in beer and spirits. Prior to its closing in 2020, Blacklands Malt emphasized the importance of creating locally-grown supply chains for brewers.
