Rassignol presents a rational defense of economic democracy and socialism. The author starts off by describing of the mental image that the reader might see of left winger. Then goes on saying that anyone from left who attempted to change the system is viewed in a negative way. The author then discusses about America’s social ills, such as unemployment, crime rates, nation's economy, inequitable tax system, which the lower and middle class receive most of the burden. Additionally, states that people who made over $50,000 paid no taxes in 1974. He also says the medical system is another social ill, because it requires citizens to have the money to be paid before one goes into a emergency room.
