General

Interview Summary: When looking for colleges, Yasmeen wanted a small school that wasn’t too far from her hometown of Sugarland, Texas. Her first time on the Hilltop was for a scholarship luncheon, and she recalls feeling that everyone on campus looked like they wanted to be there. While attending St. Edward’s Yasmeen worked as a Writing TA, in the bookstore, and with the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities. Though these jobs led her to her current position as Communication Coordinator for OIT, Yasmeen says her favorite extracurricular was Topper Radio. While in the organization Yasmeen was able to be on two different shows where she discussed everything from alternative music to modern sexuality. To her, St. Edward’s is a place that is constantly pushing itself and its students to grow and be more accepting.
